t is my pleasure to welcome you to Prospect Hill Academy Charter School. Prospect Hill Academy was founded in 1996 by a diverse group of community members with the ambitious mission to prepare each student for success in college, inspire a lifelong love of learning, and foster responsible citizenship. As a public school of choice, we proudly serve more than 1100 students in grades Kindergarten through 12 on three campuses and four buildings in Cambridge and Somerville, Massachusetts.
At the core of our community is the commitment to promote high standards of academic, personal, and social achievement for all students, while embracing their unique racial, cultural, linguistic, educational, and socio-economic backgrounds. The prevailing culture at Prospect Hill Academy is one of ongoing improvement. In this spirit, Prospect Hill Academy administrators and faculty members are constantly seeking new and better ways to improve our practice, to engage our students, to connect with parents/guardians, and to expand our knowledge. In sum, Prospect Hill Academy educators understand and embrace the gravity of our work, and we take to it with the same vigor and rigor that we expect of our students.
Prospect Hill Academy Charter School is home to writers, artists, athletes, humanitarians, and scholars, and we nurture and cultivate caring and compassionate relationships across cultural lines. Perhaps most importantly, Prospect Hill Academy operates with a profound sense of hope and optimism—in the bright futures of our young people, in what we can accomplish as an institution, and in the possibilities that exist to make positive change in an increasingly complex world.
Whether you are a prospective student, parent, alumnus, friend, or fellow educator, I invite you to explore and learn more about what Prospect Hill Academy Charter School has to offer.
