Parents/PTC

At Prospect Hill Academy Charter School, we firmly believe that parent and family engagement is essential to the fulfillment of our school’s mission. Children whose parents are actively involved in their child's educational progress thrive better than those whose parents are not. To make the educational experience at Prospect Hill Academy truly effective, we ask that every parent be a part of our community. Parents contribute by taking a role in the Parent-Teacher Connection (PTC), participating in campus-specific Parent Councils, volunteering at school events, and helping to organize and run special events.

The Mission of the Parent-Teacher Connection (PTC)

The PTC at Prospect Hill Academy exists to provide parents/guardians and teachers a place to come together outside of the classroom to discuss community-wide issues and provide mutual support for the promotion and enhancement of student learning.

The PTC supports and strives to reinforce the PHA Mission by enabling and encouraging parents/guardians to become more involved in their children’s education.

The PTC protects, preserves, and promotes the Voice of the Families of PHA to honor the parents who founded this school as an alternative to district-based public education. Diversity within the PHA community brings multiple perspectives to this Voice and strengthens its purpose and wisdom.

Teachers are an indispensable part of the PTC, and therefore share an equal place and voice within the group. The PTC encourages all PHA teachers to enlist for any leadership roles their time and talents endorse.

Through fundraising and parent donations, the PTC supports innovative approaches to education that may require additional funding beyond the School’s immediate means.

The PTC endeavors to foster the Community Spirit within the entire PHA community through school-wide events and open lines of communication.

In order to distribute responsibilities for the various PTC projects and functions, the organization offers many different officer roles.
