What is Enrichment Term?
Enrichment Term at PHA is a three-week term in June that is designed to engage 10th and 11th grade students in genuine service-learning projects, plus offer them the opportunity to take courses outside of the traditional academic curriculum. In order to successfully offer Enrichment Term, we seek out organizations that may have a specific need our students can help them meet. During Enrichment Term students work in teams, under the direction of a PHA advisor, to complete a project approved by the organization.

Philosophy
Enrichment Term offers PHA students the unique opportunity to participate in service-learning by connecting academic content and skills with community service. This term closely adheres to the three tenets of the Prospect Hill Academy mission by:
- Preparing all students for success in college by developing project management and teamwork skills.
- Fostering responsible citizenship through genuine service-learning endeavors.
- Inspiring a lifelong love of learning by affording students the opportunity to explore interests and skills that often fall outside the traditional academic curriculum.
Programmatic Benefits
Enrichment Term will benefit the PHA community by providing longitudinal cohesion to the advisory curriculum, offering courses that are not taught during the traditional school year, providing individual support for students, and by preparing students to enroll in service-learning-based courses and programming.
Our Enrichment Term Process
As soon as a match with an organization is made, students begin to prepare for the service-learning portion of Enrichment Term through a weekly curriculum focused on research, community organizing, teamwork, professional communication, problem solving, and project management skills. It’s a great opportunity for PHA students to help an organization complete a particular project that they would otherwise be unable to do.
