Welcome
Welcome to Prospect Hill Academy Charter Lower School and thank you for visiting our website. At the Lower School, we are educating the next generation of citizens and leaders. A Prospect Hill Academy, we are committed to preparing our students to be successful, contributing citizens of our ever-changing society. To accomplish this task, we enable all of our students to become confident, caring people committed to learning, thinking, and communicating their feelings and ideas.
Our standards-based academic program, coupled with skills development in the curricular areas, helps prepare our students for the rigors of the Middle School, Upper School, and ultimately college and beyond. Together, our faculty and staff strive to create an environment that enhances self-esteem, increases student growth and achievement academically and socially, and promotes the development of student-directed learning. At the Lower School, we are proud of our students’ and staff’s accomplishments.
The quality of our teachers is of paramount importance at the Lower School. This ensures the best and highest possible levels of instruction and learning for our students so that they shine and excel. Excellence in teaching instills in our students the values of a just society and enables all students to take their place with confidence in a rapidly changing world.
Community is also essential. The time we have with our students and their families is very special and a vital part in our working together. As a school community, parents, administrators, teachers, and staff form a partnership in the education and development of our students.
We fully recognize the importance of the role played by parents and guardians not only in the education of their children but also in the life of the school as a whole. Open communication with parents is a top priority for us. With this in mind, at the beginning of each school year, every parent makes two commitments. First, we commit to conduct ourselves personally and professionally in ways that will model what we want our students to become. Second, we commit to do what is within our collective talent, effort and capacity to protect the rights of each student so that all have the freedom and opportunity to develop to their full potential.
You can see from my letter that teamwork and partnerships between parents, faculty, staff, and students are the vital ingredients in providing the best education for our children. We encourage you to work with us in our effort to make Prospect Hill Academy Lower School the best place for our children and a shining example of what a school can be!
With Our Children in Mind,
Nanzetta Merriman
