Clubs and Activities
Prospect Hill Academy is in the process of redesigning its Out-of-School Time Program for the 2008-09 school year and will publish more details shortly.
Although the regular school day ends at 3:00PM at the Middle School, there are many activities that currently take place after school. Programs range from academic support and tutoring for students who require additional attention to academic and extra-curricular enrichment for students who choose to advance their studies.
Middle School Programs
After School Clubs
The Middle School offers a growing selection of after-school clubs for which participation is interest-based and voluntary. All clubs are open to all Middle School students unless otherwise indicated. Clubs include but are not limited to: the drama club, the Improv Olympics club, the newspaper club, the dance club, the ski and snowboard club, the flag football club, and the basketball club.
The Calderwood Writing Center
Twice a week after-school, students receive feedback and guidance on their writing assignments for all of their PHA classes from either the writing center director or a Harvard student Scribe (trained tutor).
Homework Lab
Everyday, except Tuesdays, from 3:00PM – 4:30PM, the Middle School offers a homework lab open to all students. The lab is staffed by PHA faculty members.
After-school Tutoring
Students can receive individual tutoring by faculty members either in the Homework Lab or by individual appointment.
