Why a Dress Code?

Prospect Hill Academy Charter School’s dress code is primarily designed to draw attention away from clothing so that students can focus fully on learning and teachers can focus on teaching. It is not meant to limit students’ opportunities for creative expression, but rather to instill a sense of school pride and ownership. We believe that students have many occasions to express themselves creatively within their school and after-school activities.

Secondarily, the dress code is meant to limit expressions of financial inequities through clothing and ensures that our students present themselves in a manner appropriate for an academic environment.
