Opportunity Day
The PHA Upper Elementary Campus is launching a new tradition: Opportunity Day. Our vision is to send ALL of our 4th, 5th and 6th grade students into the community to begin exploring opportunities that are available to them in their future. We hope to expose them to colleges and/or future career paths that they may not know exist. We want to enable our students to be informed decision makers. We want to inspire them to dream big.
Opportunity Day means:
- Host a group of 12 students for at least ½ of the school day (approximately 9AM-1PM).
- Provide a tour of the college or workplace.
- Engage students in a presentation or meeting with employees or college students who can talk about what they do, why they chose to do it, and how students should prepare themselves for future success.
- Involve students in an activity that is related to your workplace or college.
Opportunity Day sites must be accessible by public transportation. Opportunity Day takes place April 29, 2011.
Contact Sandy Occil, Assistant to the Principal, at soccil@prospecthillacademy.org or 617-684-8511 to arrange an Opportunity Day at your workplace or college.
